A seven month long investigation lead the FBI from Connecticut all the way to South Texas and to the door of Jacob Matlock.

“He was ready to explode,” Hidalgo County Sheriff Lupe Trevino said. “His fantasies were getting much stronger and I believe, at some point, that fantasy would have turned into reality and we’d be facing something horrible.”

Matlock faced a Hidalgo County judge Thursday afternoon---charged with possession of child pornography and given a $1-million dollar bond.

Sheriff Trevino said his men found dozens of images of young children engaged in sexual activity on Matlock’s computer.

“He wasn’t in the business of creating the pornography he was actually downloading it from different site and keeping them in his files,” Trevino said.

He adds, there could be more arrest made in the future. He said he and his department will continue to work with the FBI to make sure they get predators, like Matlock, off the streets.
