A South Texas ISD bus driver is doing fine but recovering after an early morning traffic accident in Brownsville.

Investigators told Action 4 News that a pickup truck rear-ended the school bus on the 1300 block of FM 802 around 7 a.m. Wednesday.

Police said there were no children on board at the time of the accident.

Meanwhile, the driver of the pickup was taken to the hospital for observation and cited for failure to control speed.

STISD officials said the bus driver is fine and was on his way to pick up students.
