More than 4,000 people headed to the State Farm Arena on Tuesday in hopes of getting close to 3,000 jobs up for grabs right here in the Rio Grande Valley.
Workforce Solutions, Congressman Rubén Hinojosa, Univsion Radio and Action 4 News put together the Economic Resource & Career Fair 2011: Opening Doors to the Future.
Unlike other job fairs, this event will also provide Job Seekers with direct access to valuable resources offered by over 40 community organizations, as well as local, state, and federal agencies.
The event will feature a “Heroes Corner” where Veterans will be able to meet with local, state, and federal Veteran Representatives.
Some 3,000 job openings were made available by 100 employers from throughout the Rio Grande Valley.
Job openings ranged from entry-level to management/supervisory-level, and represent various industries, including: retail, law enforcement, health care, banking, energy, government, and others.
