Authorities have arrested a fourth suspect in the shooting of a Hidalgo County Sheriff's Office deputy.

Sheriff Lupe Treviño reported that the suspect will be arraigned late Monday morning.

The suspect is facing aggravated kidnapping and attempted capital murder charges.

Two deputies were responding to a kidnapping call northeast of Edinburg where one of the them was shot.

Investigators said the incident was connected to a marijuana load stolen from a Gulf Cartel faction.

Suspected kidnapper David Gonzales Perez was killed during the shootout with deputies.

Several other people were arrested in connection to the marijuana seizure.
