Authorities have dismantled a pirate communications network south of the border in Reynosa.

It happened in two separate events over the past two weeks.

A regional office for Mexico's Ministry of National Defense (SEDENA) confirmed the seizures took place Saturday, October 15th and Tuesday, October 25th.

SEDENA officials reported soldiers were out on patrol when they first noticed the illegally used antennas.

Soldiers seized a total of 21 receiving and transmitting antennas, 22 repeaters and dozens of other communications items.

SEDENA officials said the communications network was being used by members of  organized crime.
