Men make a horrifying discovery in a field near a body shop.

They stumbled upon the body of a woman.

McAllen police say they are investigating this as a homicide.

Paul Luna said fear struck him as he heard the news Thursday morning.

"Some guys from the neighbors came out here running saying that they had found a body in the back," said Paul Luna with Luna's Towing Service.

It wasn't what Luna expected to hear when he came into work.

"Well it's just so close to where we work," he said. "I don't know how I feel about that."

Around 10:30 Thursday morning, police responded to a call of a dead woman in a field in the 11 hundred block of Tamarack.

"I was with my mom at the hospital when my sons called me and told me i needed to come to the body shop because they found a dead woman by the shop," said Jorge Calderon.

Calderon and his family own this body shop.

He said he has no idea what could have happened to this woman, but her death brings back sad memories.

"My mom is having flashbacks of when my brothers died," said Calderon.

Calderon said they were found in the trunk of a vehicle in Weslaco seven years ago.

"I'm very sad about this woman's death because as a mother I know how it feels," said Calderon's mother Mikael. "Poor mother when she finds out about her daughter....dead in the field."

McAllen police tell us they are working to identify the woman and piece together how she died.

If you have any information that could help police, call mcallen crimestoppers at (956) 697-TIPS.

McAllen police are not saying if the woman displayed any evidence of injuries.
