An argument over speeding in a neighborhood leads to a brazen murder in Hidalgo County.
At 2:05am Sunday morning, the victim, Erasmo Morales, “approached the suspects and warned them about reckless driving in the neighborhood” said Sheriff Lupe Trevino.
According to a report, the discussion escalated into an argument.
Esteban Albiter confessed to shooting Morales multiple times with a 45 caliber handgun and striking him in the chest the Sheriff said.
Juan Briones also confessed to his role in the murder, and was later arrested.
The Sheriff told Action 4 News both Briones and Albiter are members of the Tri-City Bomber gang, but the shooting is not gang related.
Both are being held in the Hidalgo County Jail on murder charges.
