Fire destroys home, car in Weslaco neighborhood

The Hidalgo County Fire Marshal's Office is investigating a fire that destroyed a mobile home on Monday afternoon.

Weslaco Emergency Management Coordinator George Garrett told tells Action 4 News that the blaze started around 3 p.m. Monday.

The blaze consumed a mobile home on Eden Street in a matter of minutes.

The large fire also destroyed a car in the neighbor’s yard.

No one was home at the time of the blaze.

Authorities are investigating what may have caused the fire.
