Mission drug chase ends with arrest, marijuana seized

More than 1,200 pounds of marijuana are off the streets and one man is behind bars following a chase in Mission.

It all happened off Los Ebanos Road around 10:30 a.m. Thursday.

Investigators told Action 4 News that a police officer tried to pull over a white van for a traffic violation but the driver refused to stop.

The chase ended a few miles down the road where the driver bailed out and fled on foot.

Mission police were able to catch the driver an place him under arrested.

Authorities found about 1,200 pounds of marijuana inside the van.

The driver’s name is being withheld until a Friday morning arraignment for evading arrest and marijuana charges.
