Although official information remains limited, Tamaulipas residents have reported raids at casinos at several border cities.

Residents used Twitter to report raids of casinos in Reynosa, Nuevo Laredo, Miguel Aleman, Rio Bravo, Ciudad Victoria and Tampico on Wednesday afternoon.

The El Universal reported that federal raids at 11 casinos took place in six different cities across Tamaulipas.

Officials in Reynosa confirmed that federal officials were performing an operation along Bulevar Hidalgo.

A webcam atop a nearby TelMex building recorded traffic at a standstill while what appeared to be a federal police or military vehicle blocked traffic in front of a nearby casino.

Action 4 News spoke to several federal authorities in Mexico but they had not released any official information as of 11 p.m. Wednesday.

The reported raids come weeks after attacks on casinos in Reynosa, Nuevo Laredo and Monterrey where 52 people died during an act of arson.
