Truck driver arrested with 200 pounds of marijuana in Harlingen

More than 200 pounds of marijuana is off the streets following a traffic stop involving an 18-wheeler in Harlingen.

It all happened around 7 p.m. Monday.

Investigators told Action 4 News that a Harlingen police officer pulled over an 18-wheeler with Indiana license plates.

Authorities said a search during the routine traffic stop revealed more than 200 pounds of marijuana hidden inside.

Police arrested 25-year-old truck driver David Blankenship on felony possession of marijuana charges.

Blakenship appeared before a Harlingen municipal judge where he was issued a $200,000 dollar bond.
