The story began in June when Marla Harris first introduced Action 4 News to her 7-year-old daughter Larissa.

In that time Action 4 News has followed Larissa as she went through a grueling 11 hour surgery to have a giant tumor removed from her face.

Our cameras were also there when she was finally able to leave her wheelchair and roam freely around her home.

But Larissa's story does not end there.

As the story of this brave 7-year-old spread across the Rio Grande Valley-- more and more people stepped up to help this struggling family.

"We want to thank everyone out there who has helped us," Marla Harris said in a previous interview with Action 4 News. "From the bottom of my heart thank you so much."

On Thursday even more help headed their way.

"She's a wonderful little girl," Edna De Saro, 1st Vice President and Marketing Director at Lone Star National Bank, said. "When we heard that what she desired most was to paint or something to do her homework on...we knew it was just a perfect match. We're here to bring her a school desk and chair."

Our Action 4 News camera was rolling as Lone Star National Bank rolled up to Larissa's home to deliver the surprise.

While she was a girl of few words--her smile said it all.

Her mother, Marla, said the support those in the Valley have shown her family over these last two months has been overwhelming and words cannot describe how thankful she is.

"I can't really explain how much this means to us," Marla sobbed. "I'm so appreciative of everyone out there."

As for Larissa, it is out with the old and in with the new.

Lone Star National Bank set up a savings account for Larissa.

If you want to help this brave little girl out all you have to do is go to any Lone Star branch and donate to Larissa Harris.
