Authorities are investigating reports that a student brought a gun to Rio Grande City High School.

According to school district officials, a student reportedly brought a gun to school on Tuesday.

School district officials reported that the student was identified but left campus due to an unrelated incident before investigators could speak with him.

The incident remains under investigation.
