Police building, movie theaters targets in Rio Bravo grenade attacks

Authorities have confirmed two grenade attacks at state police building and a movie theater south of the border in Rio Bravo.

The El Milenio newspaper reported that at least one person was seriously injured in the joint attacks.

El Milenio reported that the first grenade attack took place that Tamaulipas State Police building around 2 p.m. Tuesday leaving only damages.

The second attack took place outside the Azteca 5 movie theater where one person was seriously injured.

El Milenio reported that the movie theater is owned by family of the city’s mayor whose brother was assassinated in almost the same spot back in November 2007.
