A plane carrying the body of Altamirano arrived at McCreery Aviation in McAllen around noon Tuesday.

He leaves behind a wife and three children in McAllen.

Family members told Action 4 News that Altamirano also had two other children from a previous marriage.

Altamirano served three tours overseas in Iraq for the past 11 years but died in a non-combat incident while cleaning a weapon back on September 18th.

He is the 41st out of 42 Rio Grande Valley servicemen and women killed fighting the War On Terror overseas.
