Harlingen Police confirm one person is dead after a car accident Saturday night.

Police said a Ford Taurus was leaving a parking lot at the intersection of Chaparral Lane and Morgan Boulevard around 10:30 p.m.

They said the driver of the Taurus did not yield the right of way to a Ford F-250 pickup truck traveling north.

The truck struck the Taurus, and the driver of the Taurus was killed.

A passenger in the Taurus and the driver of the truck were both said to have been taken to the hospital.

More details are expected to be released Monday.
