Authorities found a missing special needs student hours after he left the San Benito Veterans Memorial Academy without permission.
Family members told Action 4 News that 15-year-old Eduardo Castro takes medication for anxiety but went missing from school.
Officials said he was last seen running into a brushy area located north of the campus.
San Benito CISD school police and campus officials are working closely with the help of local law enforcement agents in attempts to locate the student in question.
School officials, concerned about the student’s safety due to warm temperatures outside, recruited the assistance of Border Patrol agents.
Authorities found Castro a nearby shooting range where he was returned to the custody of his parents who declined further comment.
