Tiffany Hartley to speak at border security hearing in Brownsville

Almost one year after losing her husband to pirates on Falcon Lake, Tiffany Hartley is among long list of speakers at a congressional hearing about border security in Brownsville.

Hartley is among the witnesses to speak at a haering for House Judiciary Subcommittee on Crime, Terrorism and Homeland Security at the University of Texas at Brownsville today.

Zapata County Sheriff Sigifredo Gonzalez is also testifying.

Sheriff Gonzalez is the lead investigator on the American side of the border into David Hartley's death.

David and Tiffany Hartley were looking at the ruins of the Guerrero Viejo on the Mexican side of Falcon Lake when pirates attacked them back on September 30, 2010.

Tiffany Hartley told investigators that her husband was shot and killed by the pirates but she managed to escape.

Suspects have reportedly been identified in David's Hartley's death but they have not arrested.

David Hartley's body was never recovered.
