Authorities are investigating a tire fire in East Edinburg.

Firefighters said over one thousand tires and a semi were on fire when they arrived near Sharp and Curve Road in East Edinburg.

The sheriff's office, county fire marshal, and firefighters with Alamo, San Juan and Edinburg worked together to contain the fire.

A witness told Action 4 News, he called 911 around noon Wednesday after seeing 2 teens light the tires on fire and run off.

“Even though somebody might look at this as garbage or waste, it is somebody’s property on fire is arson,” said Edinburg fire chief Shawn Snider.

Authorities are looking for the two that were seen starting the fire.

No one was hurt.
