The Donna Fire Department is leading a donation drive for first responders battling wildfires in Central Texas.

Fire Chief Michael Cavazos told Acton 4 News that as much as the victims of the wildfire need help, so do the firemen and law enforcement officers keeping them safe.

They will be collecting toiletries and other items, which will be sent to the fire crews and police near Bastrop.

Donna Firefighters will also hold a boot drive throughout the city on Saturday and Sunday to raise money.

The money will then be used to purchase toiletries.

They will be out on the corners of Main Street and Expressway 83, and Salinas Avenue and Expressway 83 throughout the day, this weekend.

Donations can also be dropped off at the Donna Fire Station at 209 S. 10th Street.

They are looking for the following items:
• Toothpaste/toothbrushes
• Deodorant
• Fresh towels
• New socks/undergarments
• Baby wipes
• Bar soap
• Sun block
• Chapstick/Lip balm
• Gatorade/water
• Coffee
