An illegal immigrant chase prompted a temporary lockdown at Shary Elementary School in Mission.

It all happened off North Glasscock Road on Tuesday morning.

Investigators told Action 4 News that Border Patrol agents were chasing a group of illegal immigrants in the area.

Sharyland Independent School District officials put the school under lockdown as a precaution.

Mission police and Border Patrol agents are still on the scene.
