South Padre Island authorities continue to investigate why a dolphin-watch boat crashed into the Queen Isabella Memorial Bridge late Friday.
U.S. Coast Guard officials say the boat slammed into a wooden rail near the peak of the causeway during a tour.
The crash broke the railing and damaged one side of the boat, however, officials say there was no structural damage to the causeway.
Authorities don’t believe alcohol was a factor in the crash.
They say the boat’s captain claimed it was the swell and current that caused the crash.
The case is still under investigation.
