A mother is facing criminal charges after she allegedly left her 6-year-old child sleeping a Brownsville hotel while she ran errands.

Brownsville police arrested 34-year-old Jessica Dominguez on a abandoning/endangering a child charge on Monday morning.

It all happened at the Courtyard Marriott Hotel at 3955 U.S. Expressway 77/83.

Police officers were called to the hotel after hotel employees found a 6-year-old child wandering around the second floor.

Dominguez told employees that she left the child sleep while she went to run some errands.

Investigators told Action 4  News that the child had been left alone for one hour and 49 minutes.

Dominguez was booked in the Brownsville City Jail at 11:11 a.m. Monday.

Police said Child Protective Services has been notified about the incident.
