Sentencing postponed for former State Rep. Jim Solis

A federal judge has postponed the sentecing for former Texas State Rep. Jim Solis in a corruption case involving a former state district judge.

Solis was originally scheduled for sentencing before U.S. District Court Judge Andrew Hanen on Monday morning.

Court records show that the Harlingen-based attorney is now scheduled for sentencing on October 12th.

Solis admitted to bribing former 404th State District Court Judge Abel Limas for favorable court rulings.

Both Solis and Limas are among six people publicly named in the case:

Four out of the six charged suspects in the case have pleaded guilty for their roles in the public corruption scandal.

Solis waived indictment and entered a criminal information back in April.
