We’re getting off the rain train, at least for now.
Low pressure and deep tropical moisture have worked together to provide a well needed soaking for the Rio Grande Valley from Wednesday through Thursday.
By Friday afternoon, most of the showers had already died down with all the ingredients we needed, now moving East further into the Gulf of Mexico.
Rainfall accumulations from the Valley’s airports ranged from 1.15 inches in Edinburg to 4.93 inches in Brownsville, during the Wednesday through Friday morning time period.
There’s still a slight chance of isolated showers through Saturday.
The tropics are acting up with models suggesting we may see a tropical cyclone headed into the Bay of Campeche late next week.
This could be another rainmaker for the Valley but is still too far out in the forecast to be certain.
