A bondsman and an attorney named in Abel Limas corruption case have been indicted in Brownsville's federal court.

A federal grand jury in Brownsville indicted bondsman Francisco Cisneros and attorney Ray Marchan in separate cases on Tuesday.

Court records show that Cisneros and Marchan have been linked as two more suspects in a public corruption case filed against former 404th State District Judge Limas.

Records in both cases were unsealed on Wednesday morning.

Ray Marchan Case

19-page indictment unsealed around 10 a.m. Wednesday lists seven counts filed against Marchan.

The Brownsville attorney is accused of rackeetring, conspiracy to commit racketeering, aiding and abetting extortion under color of official right and aiding and abetting honest services wire fraud.

According to the indictment, Marchan bribed Limas to get an ad litem appointmen as part of a civil lawsuit.

Under Texas state law, ad litem appointments are those where an attorney or guardian is appointed and paid to oversee a trust fund for a child or disabled person.

Francisco Cisneros Case

The federal grand jury indicted Cisneros with conspiracy to extort under color of official right as well as aiding and abetting extortion under color of official right.

According to the four-page, two-count indictment, Cisneros paid former 404th Limas $700 dollars to give Rodolfo Garcia a personal recognizance bond back in January 2008.

Records for Cisneros and Marchan were sealed until Wednesday morning suggesting that both are in custody and have made an appearance before a federal judge.

Federal court dockets for Wednesday mornning have not been updated.
