The discovery of seven new graves has increased the body count in San Fernando, Tamaulipas to 193 bodies.

Mexico’s Attorney General Marisela Morales made the announcement at breakfast meeting in Mexico City on Tuesday morning.

The El Universal newspaper reported that Morales told reporters about the discovery of seven new graves during the meeting.

Morales told El Universal and other media outlets present that the body count is now 193 bodies found in and around San Fernando.

El Universal reported that authorities have executed 85 arrests warrants against suspects named in the case.

Of those executed 85 arrest warrants, El Universal reported that 21 suspects have been sentenced while the rest remain in custody.

Most of the victims are believed to have been kidnapped and murdered by gunmen who hijacked passengers buses passing through San Fernando.

Morales told reporters that only 12 bodies have been identified and returned to family members in the San Fernando case.

The attorney general also reported that 26 out of 32 suspects in the death of U.S. Immigration & Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent Jaime Zapata are in custody.
