A Brownsville woman is behind bars after she allegedly tried to smuggle $102,000 dollars worth of meth inside cans for sliced jalapeños.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers arrested 30-year-old Samantha Marie Frye on Sunday.

Investigators told Action 4 News that Frye was a passenger aboard a bus that arrived from Matamoros at the Veterans International Bridge.

Customs officers inspected Frye’s luggage and found five food cans with 6.4 pounds of methamphetamines hidden inside.

Officials estimate that the drugs are worth $102,000 dollars on the streets.
