A Porter High School student is out on bond after being accused of raping a teenage girl while they had skipped classes together.

Cameron County Sheriff's Department deputies arrested 18-year-old Miguel Angel Moreno on a sexual assault charge on Tuesday.

Court records released in the case late Wednesday show that Moreno cut classes with a 15-year-old girl from another school back in April.

The girl met Moreno at Tony Gonzalez Park in the Southmost area of Brownsville and they left in his truck.

Moreno took the girl to a boat ramp outside city limits off Highway 48 where he allegedly raped her and forced her to perform a sexual act on him.

The girl’s mother reported the rape to deputies and decided to press charges.

Moreno appeared before a Cameron County Magistrate Judge on Wednesday morning where he was issued a $50,000 bond.

Jail records show that Moreno was released from the Cameron County Jail on Wednesday after posting bond.
