Imagine catching a redfish and wining a brand new truck, boat, motor and trailer. Well, if you are one of the lucky anglers who net a tagged redfish in this summer's 22nd annual Coastal Conservation Association State of Texas Anglers Rodeo or CCA Star tournament then all those prizes are yours.

Sixty tagged redfish were recently released throughout the 600 miles of Texas coast from Port Arthur to South Padre Island.

SOT Bob Brumby, Star Tournament Committee, "We are releasing redfish in the Lower Laguna Madre for the Star Tournament that starts on Saturday morning, and we have let nine fish go from the land cut down to South Padre Island."

Last year 13 tagged redfish were caught, but only six anglers were registered for the tournament so be sure and sign up at Academy Sports and Outdoors or visit the STAR Tournament website.

SOT Brumby, "I would like for everybody to go to our website, startournament.org, it is a new website and very interactive, and I think you will find it interesting."

In addition to the tagged redfish prizes there are many other divisions including trout, flounder, offshore species and youth divisions with college scholarships being offered to winning youngsters.

CCA was founded more than 25 years ago as a non-profit organization dedicated to the conservation of Texas's marine resources, and with some 50,000 members CCA provides an effective voice for coastal conservation and supports an aggressive restocking program.
