Authorities identify man killed in fatal Southmost wreck

Authorities have identified a 54-year-old man killed in an autopedestrian accident that happened in the Southmost area of Brownsville over the weekend.

Brownsville police told Action 4 News that Ramon Duran was killed during the fatal accident off the 3000 block of Southmost Road around 10:07 p.m. Saturday.

Duran was jaywalking when he was hit by a 2007 GMC truck driven by a 36-year-old Brownsville man.

Investigators told Action 4 News that Duran did not yield the right of way to the truck.

Duran was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

Cameron County Justice of the Peace Linda Salazar ordered an autopsy for the case.
