Texas Roadhouse in Harlingen is the newest member of the Action 4 News Keep it Clean! Club.

"A lot of it has to do with our service... our food," Rick Lopez, a managing partner, said.  "On top of that we make sure our sanitation is one of the biggest things for us."

The kitchen is where the magic happens.

On any given day, the broiler helps bring smiles to customers with made to order fresh cut meats, according to Lopez.

He also said his Food 4 Thought top performer stickers, which date back to 2008 for zero demerits on health inspection reports, bring plenty of smiles too.

"When they walk in and they see it at the front door... they see it here... to them it's kind of that stamp of approval," he said.

In celebration of the Food Patrol's recent state recognition for "Best Specialty Reporting," Texas Roadhouse in Harlingen gave Cynthia Dillman of Harlingen, a lucky Action 4 News viewer, a $100 gift card.

Lopez recommended a few dishes to the “Keep it Clean! Club” contest winner.

"We recommend…our cheese fries or fried pickles as an appetizer...Our bone-in rib-eye...And as a dessert our granny smith apple pie."

Striving for legendary quality, as spelled out in the kitchen of Texas Roadhouse is one thing, but maintaining a legendary stance on kitchen cleanliness is what got the restaurant into the club.

"Texas Roadhouse is proud to be a member of the ‘Keep it Clean! Club,’” Lopez said.
