Authorities are confirming that a Donna ISD school bus has been involved in a wreck in Kenedy County.
Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) state trooopers reported it all happened around 8:30 p.m. Friday.
Willacy County Sheriff Larry Spence told Action 4 News that accident happened on Highway 77 in Kenedy County just a few miles before the Willacy County line.
Donna Independent School District officials told Action 4 News that the incident involved students from Salinas Elementary School, who went on a field trip to Corpus Christi.
The students were on their way back from Corpus Christi when the accident happened.
Details were not immediately available but state troopers said authorities are at the scene.
Sheriff Spence told Action 4 News that he accident involved a bus headed south through Kenedy County.
It's not clear exactly where the bus was coming from, exactly where it was going or how many passengers were on board.
According to police radio communications, relays of ambulances and Valley AirCare flights have been sent to the scene.
