It's crunch time for campaigning in Brownsville.

Before voters hit the polls, Brownsville City Commissioner for District Two Charlie Atkinson wants to make one thing clear.

“I am not connected to anything that’s going on with that hidden camera,” said Atkinson.

Atkinson was referencing a camera found pointing at the home of Jessica Tetreau's husband.

When Tetreau discovered the camera, she believed it may have been used to spy on her and her children.

"As soon as I saw this camera, I can't even tell you the anger,” said Tetreau.

Tetreau is Atkinson's only opponent in the race for Brownsville City Commissioner District Two.

While Atkinson maintains he has nothing to do with the camera, he said he is interested in what's on it.

"Since she brought up the fact that there’s a camera, I’m looking for the owner of that house too,” said Atkinson.

Atkinson said he believes the footage would reveal Tetreau is living with her husband.

Her husband’s home is not in the district Tetreau is running in.

"What the footage would show probably is that she’s living there every night,” said Atkinson.

Tetreau told Action 4 News she is currently living with her mother.

Her mother lives in District Two.

"I am married to my husband,” said Tetreau. “We currently do not live together.  My mother has been undergoing breast cancer treatment for a few years now, and I feel it's very personal. I shouldn't have to explain myself."

Atkinson said Tetreau is taking advantage by listing her mother's home as her own.

"I understand she has a driver’s license and a voter ID in my district, but she hasn't lived in that district for over a year and a half,” said Atkinson.

“It's none of his business,” said Tetreau.  “It regards something that deals with my mother… I just wish he would stay away from my family."

Both Tetreau and Atkinson said they're prepared to take the battle to court.

Tetreau admits she does spend a lot of time at her husband’s home.

She said it’s a second residence that’s been cleared through the Secretary of State.

Atkinson told Action 4 News he does not intend to attack Tetreau’s personal life.

He said he only wants a fair fight.
