A Progreso man is dead after he crashed into an alleged drunk driver who failed to yield a right-of-way.
Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) spokesman Johnny Hernandez says Rogelio Gomez of Edcouch has been arrested in the case.
State troopers charged Gomez with intoxication manslaughter and failure to render aid in the death of 50-year-old Mario Vela.
Hernandez said the crash happened around 9 p.m. Saturday near the intersection of FM 88 and FM 1422 near Monte Alto.
The DPS spokesman said Gomez was driving a 1996 Ford Bronco as he exited a private drive on FM 88.
He said Gomez cut-off Vela, who was traveling south on FM 88 on a 2009 Harley Davidson.
Hernandez said Vela crashed into the truck and died.
He said Gomez fled the scene but was quickly tracked down and arrested.
