The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) is investigating a fatal motorcycle accident in Brownsville.
It all happened off FM 1419 (Southmost Road) when at 3:40 a.m. Friday morning.
State troopers told Action 4 News that the driver of a 2002 Honda motorcycle was going around a curve he lost control ejecting both the driver and the passenger.
The 22-year-old motorcycle driver from Brownsville, whose name has not been released, survived.
But state troopers said the driver was not wearing a helmet and is listed in critical condition at Valley Regional Medical Center in Brownsville.
Cameron County Justice of the Peace Linda Salazar pronounced 23-year-old passenger Alejandra Reyes dead at the scene.
State Trooper Johnny Hernandez told Action 4 News the investigation is still ongoing.
Heranandez said alcohol and speed played a factor in this fatal crash.
He said charges could be filed against the 22-year-old driver.
