Three members of a Laureles family are back at home but facing criminal charges after an incident where at least two of them got maced by deputies.
Cameron County Sheriff’s Department deputies arrested Dave Armstrong Anderson, Randy Joseph Anderson and Rosalinda Aceves on Tuesday afternoon.
It all started when Special Investigations Unit deputies received a tip that Dave Anderson was selling marijuana at his home at the rear of a property off Calle Allegre in Laureles.
Court records released late Wednesday show that deputies were interviewing Anderson when saw marijuana allegedly fell from his wallet.
Anderson allegedly fled and fought with deputies when they caught him.
Brawl With Deputies
Randy Joseph Anderson allegedly jumped on a deputy during the struggle yelling, “Let my brother go!”
Deputies responded by macing Randy and were putting him under arrest when eight to 10 family members came out the family’s main home on the property.
Aceves allegedly grabbed Randy and tried to pull him inside the home and away from authorities. Deputies responded by macing her.
The 22-year-old woman allegedly tried to throw something at deputies but was restrained by a family member.
Deputies allegedly found three marijuana plants at Dave Anderson’s home.
Court records show that Dave Anderson had previous arrests for marijuana, DWI and evading arrest.
The records shows Randy Anderson had been on probation in a burglary case but Aceves did not appear to have a criminal record.
Court Appearance
The two brothers and Aceves all appeared before Cameron County Magistrate Judge Luis Saenz on Wednesday morning.
Dave Anderson was charged with marijuana, resisting arrest, evading arrest and paraphernalia.
Randy Anderson was charged with assault of a public servant, interfering with public duties and resisting arrest.
Aceves was charged with interfering with public duties.
Jail records show that they had all posted bond by Wednesday afternoon.
