Mexico’s top law enforcment official reports that the body count in San Fernando has now climbed 183 bodies found in 40 mass graves.

Mexican Attorney General Marisela Morales-Ibañez made the announcement at a press conference in Mexico City on Tuesday.

Morales-Ibañez reported that a total of 74 members and associates of the Zetas drug cartel have been arrested and formally charged in the case.

She said authorities are still searching for other suspects and Zetas leaders connected to the case.

So far, only two bodies have been clearly identified and turned over to family members.

Morales-Ibañez said it would take three to four weeks for DNA results to be available and that PGR officials would notify family members by phone.
