Police in McAllen blocked off a roadway after a possible explosive device was found.

Around 1 p.m., McAllen’s bomb squad and K-9 units were called out to 29th and Oxford Streets on the city’s north side.

Authorities are not releasing details at this time, but bystanders told Action 4 News a grenade was found.

The device has been retrieved. 

No injuries were reported.

Authorities are now trying to determine who put the device on the roadway.
