A Mexican woman is behind bars after she allegedly took her juvenile daughter along for the ride while smuggling immigrants in Harlingen.

U.S. Border Patrol agents have filed human smuggling charges against Beatriz Urbina-Zavala.

Court records show that a Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) state trooper pulled her over for a traffic violation off Expressway 83 and Stuart Place Road on Wednesday.

Border Patrol agents were called to the scene and determined that Urbina-Zavala and six of her adult passengers were all illegal immigrants.

Court records show that the woman's juvenile daughter was also a passenger in the car.

Urbina-Zavala told Border Patrol agents that she was supposed to get paid $30 per immigrant to take them to a house in Mission.

The accused human smuggler appeared before U.S. Magistrate Court Judge Ronald Morgan on Thursday morning.

Court records show that Urbina-Zavala is a native of Michoacan, Mexico.

Judge Morgan denied bond for her until a Tuesday afternoon hearing.
