Two suspects arrested in a fatal Harlingen chase faced a judge on Friday morning.

Both Eric Christopher Gonzales and Nydia Gonzales were formally charged for their roles in the case.

Investigators told Action 4 News that Eric Gonzales was the driver of a blue Dodge pickup truck that was involved in drug chase.

The blue truck hit a silver Nissan killing a 44-year-old woman Maria D. Osornio and injuring her 50-year-old husband Javier Osornio.

Investigators found a handgun and about half a pound of marijuana inside Gonzales’ truck.

Both Eric and Nydia Gonzales appeared before a Harlingen municipal judge on Friday morning.

Authorities charged Eric Gonzales with murder, marijuana, evading arrest, aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon and an outstanding warrant.

Nydia Gonzales was charged with possession of marijuana.

Jail records show Eric Gonzales was issued $1,180,000 dollars in bonds while Nydia Gonzales got $500,000 dollars in bonds.
