"He was a father, a son, and brother, he had a family,” Sandra Morales said. “They just ripped it apart."

Sandra is the sister of Juan Antonio Morales.

Juan was found lying facedown outside of his car, dead from a gunshot wound back in October of 2008.

The person accused of pulling the trigger was Eduardo Leme de Oliveira.

He escaped to Mexico following the shooting, that was three years ago.

Juan’s family said they can forgive those who took him away, but they will never forget.

“We never thought we’d see justice,” Sandra said.

But Tuesday night as they watched Oliveira step off an airplane, handcuffed, and surrounded by Hidalgo County Sheriff Deputies, they knew the time had finally come.

"Some of these cases can go on for years and nothing happens,” Sandra said. “This time, something happen."

Sandra said all she wanted to know is why Eduardo killed her brother.

"We have questions and we need answers," Sandra said.

Hidalgo County sheriff investigators said Oliveira shot Juan as a favor to Juan’s common-law-wife Julissa Gonzalez.

Investigators said Gonzalez told Oliveira that Juan hit her numerous times and wanted to take her daughter.

Sandra said she does not buy that story. She said her brother had many children but enjoyed his freedom.

"Taking away the child, that's not a good enough reason to do what you did,” Sandra said.

One of Juan’s daughters, we will call Bianca to protect her identity; she said talking about her father is difficult.

She told Action 4 News she does not people knowing who she is because she does not want them to start questioning her about the murder.

Bianca said the loss of her father has been hard. She said, now, she won't have anyone to cheer her on at her upcoming graduation or walk her down the isle, all because of a senseless act.

"He was a very loving father,” Bianca said. “I can no longer get affection because he is not here. He was loving and caring, it's hard not to have that in your life anymore."

She said her father was everything to her a teacher, friend, and most of all her dad.

Bianca said the last three years have been hard and she does not expect the year to get any easier.

"It's kind of hard not to have that in your life anymore," Bianca said.

She said one thing her dad taught her was how to forgive.

She said that is exactly what she will do but she will never forget.

Oliveira was charged with murder and given a one million dollar bond.
