Norteño star Ramon Ayala has recovered from a recent illness and drew hundreds to a Sunday night concert at Hidalgo's BorderFest.

Ayala took the festival's outdoor stage around 10 p.m. Sunday.

Temperatures had dipped into the 50s but that didn't stop hundreds of people from attending the show and singing along.

The acclaimed Norteño artist quickly launched into his classics such as "Tragos Amargos" and "Casas de Madera."

The hour-long set ended with Ayala posing with pictures with fans.

Ayala made international headlines less than two weeks ago after falling ill and being rushed away in an ambulance at a show in Brownsville.

The singer said in a statement that he had a cold and needed to rest for a week asssuring he would play at BorderFest.
