Hundreds attend BorderFest Illuminated Parade

Hundreds of people attended the Action 4 News BorderFest Illuminated Parade on Saturday evening.

The parade took place as part of at BorderFest at the State Farm Arena in Hidalgo.

The annual parade draws hundreds of participants and spectators from the Rio Grande Valley and beyond.

This year, BorderFest is 'Celebrating Hawaii' and a lot of the floats are expected to have a Hawaiian theme.

Among the participants were the Booker T. Washington Hi-Steppin' Band from Houston as well as the Hidalgo High School Marching Band.

The parade had dozens of illuminated floats with Hawaiian themes.

Crowds cheered for  samba, Hawaiian and even Aztec dancers.

Action 4 News sponsors the parade every year as part of its ongoing commitment the community.
