Ron Williams is retired from the United States Secret Service after 23 years, and is now the CEO of Talon Executive Services.

Talon is a professional security and consulting firm.

Williams is an expert when it comes to terrorism and security and has been showcased numerous times on the national spotlight.

We asked Williams about the recent murder of ICE agent Jamie Zapata and the shooting of his partner Victor Avila.

We wanted to know if Williams believed the agents were set up or ambushed.

Williams told Action 4 News, "I'm not going 703 uniforms whether they were disguised as military or not they rolled down the window and that's when the shooting started. So that's the information is as much as I know right now", said Williams.

Williams says agents like Zapata and Avila are in countries like Mexico for consulting and advisory purposes.

While we don't know if the agents were armed, we do know the Mexican government does not authorize U.S. Law Enforcement personnel to carry weapons.

"In my opinion they should, they should bring them back across this side of the border because they're operating without, look two guys traveling down the road I don't think they were armed unless under diplomatic immunity", said Williams.

Williams tells Action 4 News, he doesn't feel Washington is handling border security effectively.

"Talk is cheap and I'm tired of hearing Janet Napolitano talk and I'm tired of hearing the President talk, I want some action as an American citizen I'm real sick and tired of what's going on the Arizona border, the Texas border and the California border. They give lip service I want to see some action", said Williams. 

Williams shared with us what he feels needs to be done to combat the growing threat of violence in Mexico.

"In my opinion that's the only way that drug cartels are going to be crushed is for American forces to go in at the invitation of the Mexican government which would cause an outcry by a lot of people, but what's the alternative the drug cartels to basically take over the country.  Which they almost have in the first place", said Williams.
