The Pharr Police Department has shut down an overpass in front of the Pharr-Reynosa International Bridge after an accident involving a tanker truck carrying diesel fuel.

Police told Action 4 News that the single-vehicle accident happened at the intersection of South 281 and Military Highway in which a tractor trailer loaded with an undisclosed amount of diesel fuel rolled over.

The accident is not affecting traffic at the international bridge but officials closed the Military Highway overpass while they try to clean up the accident.

No injuries were reported but authorities are currently working on attempting to roll the vehicle back up right.

Pharr police are requesting that people avoid the intersection until they get the 18-wheeler removed from the roadway.

The accident investigation is still ongoing and the cause off the accident is still undetermined.
