A brush fire in Harlingen came a little too close for comfort for some residents on Tuesday.
But they say they aren't surprised that the blaze even started at all.
After this latest fire, they are calling for action after they say their calls to the Primera Police Department have gone unanswered.
Residents say its an ongoing problem and they're fed up.
Since the holidays, those living at Oasis Mobile Park say, several fires have been started by teens setting off fireworks, which is against city ordinance.
Residents say they tried to catch the arsonist in the act, but when they called the police, they never showed up, five minutes later, a fire ignites.
“When you have someone of authority calling and they don’t respond, and you get four phone calls, theres a problem, a serious problem” Camie Joss said.
Action 4 News took these concerns to Primera Police Chief Joe Rodriguez, who says his officers have responded to the calls.
However, when they get there, no one wants to come forward with information.
But residents say there is enough evidence if police would just investigate.
Action 4 News found those evidence as our cameras were rolling, several firecrackers laying close to the location where the fire started.
Chief Rodriguez said his department has an open door policy and is willing to meet with any resident over their concerns.
As for Camie Joss, she'll be speaking out at the city meeting come February 17th.
