A Cameron County deputy constable found himself on the other side of the law after being arrested over the weekend.

Los Fresnos police arrested Pct. 6 Deputy Constable Frank Saldaña following a fight at AJ Sports Bar off Ocean Boulevard.

Saldaña was off-duty but tried to intervene and then become involved and ended up punching a security guard.

Cameron County Precinct 6 Constable Merced Burnias said Saldaña has been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of the case.

Saldaña faces an assault charge and has posted an $8,000 dollar bond today.
