A 40-year-old woman arrested by FBI agents in Brownsville is expected to be extradited from the Rio Grande Valley to California.

FBI agents arrested Suyapa Reyes in Brownsville on Wednesday.

Court records show that Reyes is wanted for a warrant issued in a bank fraud case from a federal court in Los Angeles.

Details about her arrest were not immediately available but court records show she appeared before U.S. Magistrate Court Judge Ronald Morgan in Brownsville on Thursday morning.

Judge Morgan denied bond for Reyes, who waived an identity hearing and is now expected to be extradited to California.

Court records in the case remain sealed but show that authorities first filed charges against her back in July 1998.

The case was dismissed back in November 2010 but prosecutors decided to file charges again in December prompted a warrant for her arrest.
