Mexico extradites 12 wanted criminals to Texas, other states

Twelve Mexican nationals were extradited to Texas and two other states this week for various charges ranging from drug trafficking to murder.

Mexico’s Attorney General’s Office said on Wednesday that nine of them were sent to Harlingen and Houston on Sunday.

The other five were transferred to the custodys of the U.S. Marshals at the Mexico City airport on Thursday.

One of them men, Luis Damián Barrientos, is wanted in Webb County for shooting another man with a rifle and fleeing the scene back in 2007.

A woman, Cantalicia Garza, is wanted out of the Southern District of Texas for smuggling large amounts of cocaine and marijuana across the border.

Timoteo Rios is wanted in Harris County for stabbing a woman as he stole her car.

Three men, Marco Antonio and Sergio Humberto Luján and Jose Rodolgo Escajeda, are wanted in a federal court out of Western District of Texas on drug trafficking charges.

Jose Manuel Escobedo is wanted out of the Eastern District of Texas.

He was sentenced for drug dealing and sent to prison in Big Spring in 2003 but was able to escape in 2007 and flee to Mexico.
